Box Tree Caterpillar
The adult moth typically has white wings with a brown border, though some may appear completely brown or clear.

Lifecycle: Female moths lay pale yellow eggs under leaves. These hatch into caterpillars with greenish-yellow bodies and black heads. As they grow, they develop black and white stripes and can reach up to 4cm in length.

Damage: Caterpillars spin webbing among leaves and branches while feeding, which can severely damage box trees.

Manually remove caterpillars where practical.

Prune stems covered with webbing and safely destroy them.

Use insecticides if necessary—ensure thorough spraying penetrates webbing. Repeat treatment if infestation is heavy.

Fuchsia Mite
Fuchsia mites are listed among the top pests by the Royal Horticultural Society for their destructive impact on garden plants.
Control Measures:

Pruning: Carefully prune affected areas and dispose of cuttings to prevent further spread.
Treatment Options:

Insecticide sprays can be applied 2–3 weeks after pruning.

For eco-friendly alternatives, horticultural oil spray or insecticidal soap can be applied every 7–10 days.
